- Whereas, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has a National Health Alert Network (HAN) which has been operational since September 2011.
- Whereas, Physicians, as well as members of the public, may register to be included in this network.
- Whereas, CDC’s Health Alert Network (HAN) is CDC’s primary method of sharing cleared information about urgent public health incidents with public information officers: federal, state, territorial, and local public health practitioners, clinicians; and public health laboratories.
- Whereas, CDC’s HAN collaborates with federal, state, territorial, and city/county partners to develop protocols and stakeholder relationships that will ensure a robust interoperable platform for the rapid distribution of public health information.
- We Recommend AMFPR
That the AMFPR promote the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Health Alert Network to the membership via appropriate publications and AMFPR website and encourage members to register at http://www.bt.cdc.gov/HAN/UPDATES.ASP
